Regional Construction Manager
Mike was born and raised in Hawkes Bay. Having joined FSL at the beginning of 2025 to start the Hawkes Bay regional office, he comes with nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry. He started his apprenticeship in the Bay working on residential housing before moving to Wellington, where he completed his apprenticeship working on commercial fit-outs and multiple high-rise construction projects. After 6 years in Wellington, he moved to Auckland, where he carried on working in the interiors industry, completing multiple high-end office and retail fit-outs before moving on to project managing for a local Auckland construction company, managing commercial developments ranging from $5m to $25m. Whilst in Auckland, he also completed a National Diploma in Construction Management.
After having their first child, Mike and his wife decided to move back to the regions where he started his own construction company specializing in high-end residential and small commercial projects. He then sold out of the business and moved on to working for a property development company, overseeing multiple residential and commercial developments from a client-side position. A chance phone call with Aidan in late 2024 eventually led to taking the opportunity to get FSL up and running in Hawkes Bay.
His extensive experience brings multiple areas of knowledge from construction methodologies, estimating, programming, and construction management, offering a well-rounded skill set to tackle diverse industry challenges and opportunities.
